Top 10 Most Wanted List - April 2007

Thanks to two major updates by the development team and another 7800 getting pwned by the STFU, there are major changes to this list. Some of the bots on the past top 10 list got the banstick (including our infamous digbot, most of the beastmaster bots, and the majority of the sky botting group) and the ones that are still around saw their income go down the drain.

1. Lgk (LR: 3). With fishbots heavily nerfed and Sphagnum banned, it would be a matter of who would hit the top spot. Well Lgk is still around crafting shiheis at high rate, and it seems like this bot has the most reliable source of income right now. If its not Lgk, ammo/shihei craftbot named Bot will pick up the slack. They do most of their business in the three starting cities, not in Jeuno.

2. ToAU bots (LR: 4). While one of their NMs got nerfed, they were not as affected as you think, since these bots, led by Anicents, often target common money makers for their source of income. Some of their crew have been MIA for the past couple weeks, but there is at least one full party of them to keep up the slack.

3. Cwbprincess and Zqlcwb (LR: 5). After a brief decline, the duo have been back out in force, powerleveling gilseller trainees outside of Kazham in the past two weeks as the gilsellers are trying to rebuild their forces. They have resumed tree cutting farming as the price has started to rise again.

4. Glode's crew (LR: 9). This was the only group that did not get nerfed in March, and as a result, they make the biggest gain in the rankings. Their target items did not get affected by the update, and they have been doing more BCNMs with all those kindred seals since their other target items can be obtained. There is an average of 10-14 other RMT that assist Glode, and while they don't do BCNM often they often farm enough seals to get orbs to do several runs.

5. Fish Bots (LR: 1). They took a serious hit, as their mythril sword exploit got broken, and then they have to deal with an combination of Moat Carp undercutters (price went from 5k a stack to 2.5k a stack this month), and a new gob to keep them from fishing in four other zones. Bibiki Bay, however, was not nerfed and the ones lucky with COP access will have no issues with fishing for the time being.

6. Xiaoye's crew (LR: NR). This group that usually spends their time in Baileys was unaffected by the recent hits, but the pressure on them is on. They go after the Dukes of Baileys, and coffer chests for Mage's Ballard II.

7. gilseller trainees (LR: NR). They're not up to the point where they can go botting as of yet, but there is a large number of them right now, and you may see them in various zones trying to level up jobs.

8. Fuguslaughter (LR: NR). This is the only summoner bot known on this server, and he primarily is used for powerleveling and for tonberry farming. Although this bot is assisted by other bots from time to time, he often goes solo.

9. Ground HNM bots (LR: 6). Although their money drops got yanked, they are still out there botting daily, because other high price, high demand crafting materials still drop from these ground HNMs. They have turned to BCNMs while they wait for the windows, but not as frequently as Glode's crew.

10. Baoer's crew (LR: NR). They took an hit with the siren's hair not dropping from some of their NMs, but they are after coral fragments from some of the higher level sahagins behind the gold beastcoin door and over by Coral Sahagin camp. Despite the fact most of the SSG botters are gone, this group remains, and Coral fragment prices continue to rise.

In Goblin We Trust

Yesterday's FFXI update added gobs patrolling shorelines in 4 zones that are known RMT hotspots. It sucks they didn't add any of these in East Sarutabaruta or West Ronfaure, as their moat carp operation there is still in progress.

weekly update 12 Mar 07

the SE hit with the latest version update and the RMT took a serious hit as a result. the bots that were in qufim island are gone. The fishing for shall shells, nebonites, and moat carps still remain but at a much smaller scale than the mythril sword exploit. Almost all the mythril sword botters have not logged in since the update, increasing a possibility that the STFU did a banstick during the time. The ones that have moved back to Windurst or Buburimu.

The NM bots took the largest hit, however. Certain Ground HNM drops are now available in certain BCNM battles, and it has been confirmed that Serket Ring drops from Operation Desert Swarm with approximately 25% drop rate. In addition, Ulli, Sozu, and Pallas are now forced pop NMs where spawn items are farmed from the nearby mobs of the same type. In addition, the siren's hair is no longer a drop most of the sahagin NMs, putting the SSG botters out of business there.

The ground and sky NM botters have primarily focused their attentions farming the new NM pop items since the update, but with the prices of Thief's Knife and Pallas's Bracelets dropping, expect them to change their plans soon. Thief's Knife has fallen below 1M in price on several servers, and the price of Serket's Ring has fallen by 50% on some servers.

The only true negative from the update is that it did not affect the botters that do BCNM to make their money - it gave them more reasons to do them now.

brand whole new group of RMT trainees are leveling jobs in various areas, including some being PL'ed by other RMTs. One of the groups is confirmed to be Chinese.
