the STFU recent hits

the STFU has hit with their recent bansticks (after another emergency maintenance that usually precedes them). So far we have not seen an impact on this round of bannings for this server.

There is a new RMT linkshell "LeadersOnly", it is a light blue color. Some of the ground HNM bots are now sporting this shell.

Ten Most Wanted RMT list - Fall 2007

Every so often this list is posted for the people on the FFXI Remora Server to find out who these creeps really are. . . so they can send the details to the STFU to strike them down.

1. Radarssw and his HUNTER linkshell. Radarssw is the ringleader of this RMT linkshell that has been around for quite some time. Instead of camping NM, they often camp mobs with common drops. Spider Webs, Tree Cuttings, and Gold Orcmasks are their targets (with one of the members with high enough goldsmithing skill to desynth orcmasks into gold ingots). This linkshell has been confirmed to do daily avatar runs for 60k gil per person quest rewards, and when that is not going on, they stay in Davoi, Boyahda Tree, or Zi'Tah. They rarely bother with selling tree cuttings anymore - they have shipped them to their mules for gardening of tree saplings. This linkshell has about 10-15 members that almost always wear the light blue linkshell, and an handful that do not. They will do various BCNM fights with the beastmen seals they occasionally get from boyahda.

2. Cwbprincess. Lately his partner in crime Zlqcwb has appeared to be missing in action. But with the recent spike in tree cutting and tree sapling prices (due to an new demand for light ores), Cwbprincess has been turning up the goobbue farming to a new level. The Boyahda Moss he gets goes to other RMT mules to rack up fame in Selbina. Cwbprincess has been around since 2004, at first on the Asura server, but on the Remora server since June 2005.

3. Ggbo. This bot has came out of hiding in recent weeks. In the past, this tarutaru was involved with the RMT beastmaster crew, but is now hanging out with other farmers.

4. superman Linkshell. Mostly this group has been mass-leveling, but some of the higher level characters have been killing Cassie for quite some time. They have a tendency to be late for other ground HNM spawns, one of them showed up at a Serket camp 3 hours after Serket had died to an rival RMT group.

5. Beautifulbaby. This tarutaru black mage has an history of being at ground HNM camps and frequently up in sky. They had an recent history of camping NMs inside Kuftal Tunnel, but as ohter groups get 86'ed by the STFU, they have been forced to focus on more profitable items.

6. Fish botters. They have taken a recent hit with Goblin Bounty Hunters being added to their favorite fishing holes within Sauromunge Champaign and Korrokola Tunnel, but they are still a threat. Some have switched to nebs but often send them to other RMT craft bots to make black ink for their shihei production. Black sole, however, still remains their main target, along with moat carps and coral fragments.

7. Craft bots. Lgk may have finally gotten the axe, but there are several RMT craft bots still out there unaccounted for. They make shiheis, sushi, and ammo for sale, and will do anything to keep competitors out of the market. Recently, the STFU has really turned up the pressure to remove these from the game with 1000 accounts across 32 servers being nuked in August 2007.

8. jimmerny. Another bot, usually up in sky, but has been found farming tree cuttings and spider webs within boyahda tree with one or two other bots. He does not hang out with anyone from the HUNTER linkshell to anyone knowledge, but it is a possibility that he may be stocking up on beastmen and kindred seals to do certain BCNMs.

9. Vijayjr. Although there is no direct link between Vijayjr and RMT, his hacking actions have earned him a spot on the Remora's Most Wanted. He has been rumored to hack at least 4 accounts since August 2007, and he targets people were in linkshells with him in the past. He is known to control Hmace, Lostbeastz, Northern, and Mrsmiley, and was a former head of a HNM linkshell. He has also stolen items and lots from former linkshells.

10. Anameless. His crew spends a lot of time in Zhaylom meriting when they're not after ground HNMs. His recent AH history includes selling items commonly botted by other RMTs, and his group has done BCNM, KSNM, ENM, and even fished up Devil Mantras to get their quotas. He has an habit of trying to recruit peeps into his merit parties and plays like a noob.

lack of time

I'm sorry for the lack of updates. I haven't been online as much as I would like to, due to a change in schedule at work and remodeling that is going on inside my house. My internet access has been very spotty at best and when I get it I tend to be AFK getting stuff packed up and moved downstairs.

updates

The STFU has released their report for the first half of 2007. It has some interesting finds. It is on the official Playonline website to read, and its divided into 3 different pages.

Also, the Banshee video has just gotten its 10,000 view on YouTube in little over 4 months. Peeps are also talking about the latest Bot Hunt video that was released last week.

Top 10 Most Wanted List - June 2007

due to mandatory overtime at my job for the past 5 weeks, I was unable to produce a top 10 list for May. The STFU has struck with 2 rounds of account bannings during this month, and they have proved to be an impact to some extent. Despite this, the top of the list remains unchanged.

1. Lgk (LR: 1). She is still there and still crafting shiheis with help of all her mules (one known as Lgkk). Again, she escapes the STFU by maintaining the low profile craft-only route.

2. Glode's crew (LR: 4). They primarily been spending their time inside Baileys farming Ahirmans and Kindred. They get around the STFU by sticking to common mobs as much as possible, relying on demon horns and ahirman wings for their profits. Sometimes they will assist other gilsellers up in sky.

3. Huige's crew (LR: NR). This is primarily the only group of ground hnm bots still left after the STFU struck. Since there is only 5 of them for botting, they been forced to engage to Cassie with three of them and they have been wiping as a result. Lately, they stay in Halvung to do a combo of meriting and farming when the HNM windows are not up.

4. Cwbprincess's crew (LR: 3). Since tree cuttings have continued to decline on the AH, they have cut back their goobbue farming and have started to rely on other profits.

5. Gilseller trainees (LR: 7). Although there has been fewer trainees leveling up, the ones that do are taking uncommon paths (Rangemount Pass and Beaudecine Glacier instead of the Jungles/Desert) to level up. 2 confirmed parties are taking that unusual route, while a third confirmed group has spent a lot of time in Kuftal Tunnel.

6. Toshimitsu (LR: NR). He has been inside Al Zahbi area for the past several weeks shouting advertisements that involve certain RareEx gear from Sky for a specified amount of gil. It is not known what gilseller group he is affiliated with, but he has been competing with another player over these advertisements.

7. Xiaoye's/Baoer Crew (LR: 6). This group of gilsellers have recently merged together due to the latest round of STFU. Their main targets have been within Quicksand Caves and Kuftal Tunnel.

8. Gluvan/Beautifulbaby Crew (LR: NR). They are the lizard/Guireve farming group inside Kuftal Tunnel. They act AFK except for those windows by staying in that room. This group dominates the Amement Skin industry.

9. Fish Bots (LR: 5). Despite all the hits they have taken, they are still hanging on, and they spend a lot of time in the cities, or even in zones that had Goblin Bounty Hunters added.

10. Ggbo's crew (LR: NR). She's out of hiding, and her crew has been spending their time leveling up jobs in the ToAU zones or farming.

Dropped out: Ground HNM bots (most have gotten banned, and the ones that are still left have been wiping); Fuguslaughter (he's still around but been limited to assisting gilseller trainees again); ToAU bots (most have been wiped, the ones that remain have been strictly been in XP mode)

Ones to watch: Sky RMT crew (back up and stronger again; there are about 40 of them, but they been reorganizing due to several of their key members getting banned); HUNTER linkshell, Rancor Den bomb crew; Ridzmouz's crew.

Top 10 Most Wanted List - April 2007

Thanks to two major updates by the development team and another 7800 getting pwned by the STFU, there are major changes to this list. Some of the bots on the past top 10 list got the banstick (including our infamous digbot, most of the beastmaster bots, and the majority of the sky botting group) and the ones that are still around saw their income go down the drain.

1. Lgk (LR: 3). With fishbots heavily nerfed and Sphagnum banned, it would be a matter of who would hit the top spot. Well Lgk is still around crafting shiheis at high rate, and it seems like this bot has the most reliable source of income right now. If its not Lgk, ammo/shihei craftbot named Bot will pick up the slack. They do most of their business in the three starting cities, not in Jeuno.

2. ToAU bots (LR: 4). While one of their NMs got nerfed, they were not as affected as you think, since these bots, led by Anicents, often target common money makers for their source of income. Some of their crew have been MIA for the past couple weeks, but there is at least one full party of them to keep up the slack.

3. Cwbprincess and Zqlcwb (LR: 5). After a brief decline, the duo have been back out in force, powerleveling gilseller trainees outside of Kazham in the past two weeks as the gilsellers are trying to rebuild their forces. They have resumed tree cutting farming as the price has started to rise again.

4. Glode's crew (LR: 9). This was the only group that did not get nerfed in March, and as a result, they make the biggest gain in the rankings. Their target items did not get affected by the update, and they have been doing more BCNMs with all those kindred seals since their other target items can be obtained. There is an average of 10-14 other RMT that assist Glode, and while they don't do BCNM often they often farm enough seals to get orbs to do several runs.

5. Fish Bots (LR: 1). They took a serious hit, as their mythril sword exploit got broken, and then they have to deal with an combination of Moat Carp undercutters (price went from 5k a stack to 2.5k a stack this month), and a new gob to keep them from fishing in four other zones. Bibiki Bay, however, was not nerfed and the ones lucky with COP access will have no issues with fishing for the time being.

6. Xiaoye's crew (LR: NR). This group that usually spends their time in Baileys was unaffected by the recent hits, but the pressure on them is on. They go after the Dukes of Baileys, and coffer chests for Mage's Ballard II.

7. gilseller trainees (LR: NR). They're not up to the point where they can go botting as of yet, but there is a large number of them right now, and you may see them in various zones trying to level up jobs.

8. Fuguslaughter (LR: NR). This is the only summoner bot known on this server, and he primarily is used for powerleveling and for tonberry farming. Although this bot is assisted by other bots from time to time, he often goes solo.

9. Ground HNM bots (LR: 6). Although their money drops got yanked, they are still out there botting daily, because other high price, high demand crafting materials still drop from these ground HNMs. They have turned to BCNMs while they wait for the windows, but not as frequently as Glode's crew.

10. Baoer's crew (LR: NR). They took an hit with the siren's hair not dropping from some of their NMs, but they are after coral fragments from some of the higher level sahagins behind the gold beastcoin door and over by Coral Sahagin camp. Despite the fact most of the SSG botters are gone, this group remains, and Coral fragment prices continue to rise.

In Goblin We Trust

Yesterday's FFXI update added gobs patrolling shorelines in 4 zones that are known RMT hotspots. It sucks they didn't add any of these in East Sarutabaruta or West Ronfaure, as their moat carp operation there is still in progress.

weekly update

sorry i'm late with the weekly update. SE has unloaded over 7800 account bans for RMT across 32 servers or an average of 243 accounts per server. I been spending all week to see who has been MIA, I will spill more next week.

weekly update 12 Mar 07

the SE hit with the latest version update and the RMT took a serious hit as a result. the bots that were in qufim island are gone. The fishing for shall shells, nebonites, and moat carps still remain but at a much smaller scale than the mythril sword exploit. Almost all the mythril sword botters have not logged in since the update, increasing a possibility that the STFU did a banstick during the time. The ones that have moved back to Windurst or Buburimu.

The NM bots took the largest hit, however. Certain Ground HNM drops are now available in certain BCNM battles, and it has been confirmed that Serket Ring drops from Operation Desert Swarm with approximately 25% drop rate. In addition, Ulli, Sozu, and Pallas are now forced pop NMs where spawn items are farmed from the nearby mobs of the same type. In addition, the siren's hair is no longer a drop most of the sahagin NMs, putting the SSG botters out of business there.

The ground and sky NM botters have primarily focused their attentions farming the new NM pop items since the update, but with the prices of Thief's Knife and Pallas's Bracelets dropping, expect them to change their plans soon. Thief's Knife has fallen below 1M in price on several servers, and the price of Serket's Ring has fallen by 50% on some servers.

The only true negative from the update is that it did not affect the botters that do BCNM to make their money - it gave them more reasons to do them now.

Sunday, March 4, 2007

weekly update - 4 March 07

brand whole new group of RMT trainees are leveling jobs in various areas, including some being PL'ed by other RMTs. One of the groups is confirmed to be Chinese.

Top 10 Most Wanted List - March 2007

A new month is coming up, and due to the changes by SE and actions from the STFU, there has been changes to the list. The top of the list is relatively unchanged from last months although the bots there are up to new tricks. The bottom of the list got different, due in part of the STFU.

1. Qufim/Batallia Fish Bots (last ranking: 1). SE nerfed Batallia Downs. The bots simply relocated to Qufim Island, targeting Mythril Swords to sell to NPC vendors. The STFU gave some of those bots bans later in the month (including most of the Love crew that moved their operations from Windurst), so the bots struck back with tons of new fish bots. Until SE does a version update (which will happen later in March), these bots are very dangerous. They don't care about the Banshee: if they get aggro, they simply die and warp hack back into position. There are still bots located in Batallia, but most are after Black Sole.

2. Sphagnum (last ranking: 2). She wasn't affected by the latest STFU hit at all. This is scary, as she is a digbot that is using the rumored Sauromunge Champaign hack to go after Gold Beastcoins, which is crafted into Gold Ingots. If she gets tired of that, she will turn to her digmules for the Rolanberry-Konschtat route and bot mythril beastcoins, elm logs, and orich. ores.

3. Lgk (last ranking: 4). Another bot unaffected by the STFU, Lgk usually runs to the nation that is in first place in conquest to bundles the tons of shiheis that she crafts. She mostly does the buying/selling on the AH in the 3 starting cities rather than Jeuno, as a result.

4. ToAU bots (last ranking: N/A). These bots will stick to ToAU zones and very seldom go elsewhere, although majority of them have sky access. They include most of the beastmasters, Yhangbo's crew, and Ancients crew. They will not be in the areas 24/7, but they are usually there when NMs are usually due to be up.

5. Cwbprincess and Zqlcwb (last ranking: 3). The goobbue botters in Zi'Tah have been unaffected as well, but their decline in rankings is partly due to the emergence of other bots. They simply farm near the boyahda zone, sell their stuff, and return. With most of their main allies banned for botting, they cannot spread out to cover all the goobbue pops like they could last month.

6. Ground HNM bots (last ranking: N/A). While most of these bots are still considered trainees, they have been getting recent success in claiming a lot of the ground HNMs. They are led by Lntevesing and Loveflys, and their cronies will appear at every pop of Roc, Serket, Cassie, and Simurgh. When not botting, they are either offline or assisting bots in Sea Serpent Grotto or Den of Rancor.

7. Similus (last ranking: 9). Her crew wasn't affected by STFU despite their constant actions botting the NMs up in the sky area. Recently she has received tons of reinforcements in newly leveled RMT trainees. They can be found at Ulli or Faust camps, they are seldom found at the other camps.

8. Jnglyjnkgyum (last ranking: N/A). He usually spends his time botting the NMs in Castle Oztroja, usually assisted by an handful of other lesser-known bots. These are two newer bots, as their predecessors have been struck down by the STFU.

9. Glode and Hesasa (last ranking: N/A). The main Kuftal Tunnel group, usually assisted by Biriri. They have not made a lot of noise in recent months, but with the recent hits by the STFU, they had to step up and start camping the NM lizard again. Sometimes they will go after Phantom Worm and Devil Mantras.

10. Keoaayh's group (last ranking: N/A). Another new up and coming group of bots, they have moved into Boyahda Tree in the past few weeks along with Baiyun's group, and they have gone after Elder Gobbues, which seem to have the best drop rate of Tree Cuttings.

Qufim Island fish bots

weekly update - 11 Feb 07

the love's have moved from windurst to qufim as of today. several former batallia bots have also set up shop in qufim as well. expect the remora's most wanted crew to make a trip to qufim sometime after the CQ update in little more than a hour from now to tape footage of those infamous bots in action.

we like to say props to the peeps on Seraph that shut down their qufim bots in a grand manner.

New distrubing trends to watch and updates

If you're in Windurst, watch out for the "Love" fishbots, all targeting for Moat Carps. Avoid buying them from the AH if you're going for the Lu Shangs quest. These bots usually hang in Windurst Waters near the general store, but some will head to the Auction Houses.

Most of the bots that were in batallia have left but a small gathering still remain, apparently going for black soles. Most of them have taken up other fishing holes (such as San d'Oria and Qufim), now realizing that their main source for income was nuked.

Some of the RMTs are out there leveling jobs and doing rank missions right now. These are easy to spot, as they will either be /anon, have a lack of linkshell, and/or have names that are unusual, are in a pattern, or sound chinese.

SE Strikes

there was an emergency all-worlds maintenance on Friday morning, and then they had an update that temporarily nerfs those infamous fishbots of batallia. Apparently someone was watching youtube and they acted. Thank you.

Remora's 10 Most Wanted Bots of February 2007

Update: The STFU strikes, and some big names that were previously on the most wanted are gone. The digbot/fishbot of Coty is gone, and has not been seen since the latest STFU hit. The bots inside Castle O and Kuftal Tunnel are MIA as well, and several bots up in sky are gone as well.

But the STFU hasn't hit them all yet, and several big names still remain. This is why this FFXI server has our own top 10 most wanted list for the STFU to give the banstick to.

The February 2007 Most Wanted List:

1. Batallia Fish Bots. Too many to name names, but the recent YouTube post shows some of them. While some of them (most notably Coty) were 86'ed, there are dozens more still fishing off the shore near Jeuno. These bots fish for items to desynth (silver rings, mythril swords), and craft Rusty Greatswords into Greatswords. This has led to Silver and Mythril Ingots staying at high prices, and high prices for Light and Lightning Crystals (when compared to other crystals). Everything else aside from the Black Sole is sold to the NPC vendor, usually at huge profits. It is common to see 50-75 bots out at any given time.

2. Sphagnum. Until the fatigue system was introduced for Chocobo Digging, she was one of the notorious 24-7 "digbots" that usually targeted Rolanberry Fields. Since then, she has been building an army of digmules, with two of them known to be Phagnum and Phaagnumjon. With this, she has been working on gaining the upper hand on the Gold Ingot price history, thanks to high goldsmithing skill. While she does not dominate the Orich. Ore industry, she will do anything to drive up the cost of leveling goldsmithing. With her past behavior of acting suspicious, she won't stop at anything to make her quotas.

3. Cwbprincess and Zqlcwb. This duo has been owning goobbues in Zi'Tah since they moved from the Asura server in June 2005. Both also have Rank 10 and sky access, but you will never see them up there going against gods. Cwbprincess has at least 2 level 70 jobs and another one in the 50s, and both have NPC fellows. All these two do is to collect tree cuttings and boyahda moss and both occasionally trade the items to mules that do the selling on the Auction House in Jeuno. If tree cuttings don't move for some reason, both have high woodworking skills to fall back upon, usually crafting ammo and shiheis.

4. Lgk. One of the few shihei bots still intact on the server, Lgk has escape the STFU despite her blantant actions. While her profits are not like they used to be, shiheis still have a very high turnover, and she will make trips to the city that is first in conquest to bundle them into toolbags. Her woodworking skills is rumored to be very high, but she will not craft anything but shiheis, bast parchment, and black ink. Every now and then, Lgk will craft bolts but they do not dominate her AH history.

5. The "WZ" crew. While most gilseller groups that party together have been 86'ed, the WZ crew has been left intact. All of them have COP and ToAU access, and as a result they dominate the Iolites and some of the drops in ToAU zones. One of their mules is known as Contai. The majority of the WZ crew have high level beastmaster jobs, but all have another level 75 job though rarely used. Every now and then, Kaoriben and Haefo will assist them with BCNMs using Kindred Seals.

6. Efoor's crew. The Wamoura/Troll/Dragon/Big Bomb farming group in Halvung (all also mine as well) is notorious for a pair of price history dominations: Bomb Ash and Rainbow Thread (even though her crew seldom lists stuff on the AH). One of her cronies has high level clothcrafting. She is accompanied by Hdjeuchi, Nhojj, and Ridzmouy. This group seldom camps the NMs in ToAU zones, opting for crafting consumables instead.

7. Uvcool. Prior to ToAU, he was known to spend long hours in Boyahda farming spiders and goobbues to meet his quotas. Since then, he has moved into Baileys and Onzozo for other high-demand drops, usually in the form of Ahirman Wings and Cockatrice Meat. With an high level beastmaster job, he often lets the pets do the dirty work for him. Occasionally he can be seen in Korrokola for jellies. He rarely camps NMs even though he is in zones where they are never camped.

8. Acess's crew. In the past, Acess would bot sky and ground HNMs. While Acess still does it with her companions, she spends the spare time in Arrapago Reef with Bclaoc, Gimycrue, Lizange, and Witchgirl. They camp the NM in the zone for Templar Mace and Exorcist Hose. They also farm the true hearing Anticans in Quicksands for their Darksteel Ores, and Marids for the Hair.

9. Similus's Crew. This crew is the most active sky botting crew still left on the server. They camp pop items 24-7, then pop the gods with other RMT groups. Similus is often accompanied by Jimmyfire.

10. Faustus. This is another bot that helps other RMT to bot mobs in Sea Serpent Grotto, Quicksands, Kuftal, and most ground and sky HNMs. He is often accompanied by Flyindance, Listoby, Laomao, Kyrali, and Fenkly.
